Spirtual Journey to India

Getting to India from San Francisco:

I'm in a time warp! After a long flight, thank the gods we made it out of Bejing airport which was a bit overwhelming. The airport is miles long and was mostly empty til we got to our departure gate. Then the flood waters of people nervously awaiting our plane broke lose. When one lady told me that they only had 1 plane to Dehi every 3 days I realized why there was a sense of panic about getting on the plane.
Jump forward 12 hours and now we're in Delhi...it's almost 4 Tues. morning (totally bypassed Monday). It's been dark @ Delhi airport and I can't see much but traffic, but someone gave me birthday cake cause I wished her happy birthday....The cake was white with keewee custard. Yummmm...so now I have a new recipe for keewees.

Finally arrived at Royal Star hotel.  My body's confused, but I think I'm tired as my eyes are red and feeling 20 pounds each...so maybe I'll go to bed now.

First day notes:

Can't sleep. First morning of my spiritual journey: Birds chirping, crickets complaining, dogs barking, children crying. Looked out @ the morning light to see a nearby faulty brick compound four feet high with burlap and plastic roofing. The roof is covered with people's laundry, sticks for burning and assorted odds & ends. Without making contact, ladies in colorful sari's begin to move through their separate doorways to the outside common courtyard. As women break sticks to make their individual fires on the earthen floor, children begin to emerge to greet the new day. Bellies swollen with emerging life are rubbed as other women grab their well used empty plastic water bottles to take down the street.
My first morning in India and my mantra for this day: I am grateful.

Where's Shiva? I thought I'd see him by now, but he's hiding somewhere among the billion plus people who all seem to be on the road driving at the same time. But I did see a couple water buffalo in a stream filled with New Delhi garbage... Talk about feeling helpless to help.

What Message Does The Devil Card Offer?

What Message Does The Devil Card Offer?
By Kooch N. Daniels

Shackled, the human figures chained to the devil’s cube depicted on the 15th major arcana card of the Rider Waite Tarot, seem to be tethered to a force beyond their control.   One can only wonder what predicament has gotten the naked man and woman in this situation.   When we use this visual symbol to explore what might be hidden in querant’s psyche, it’s easy to place the archetypal concept of the “shadow”, the unknown or dark side of our nature, in the limelight.
If you’re reading for someone who typifies “the girl next door” and not a Darth Vader personality, what longings, desires, or passions, may be affecting her emotions while being pushed from conscious recognition or acceptance? Treading lightly (my personal reading style for this card), it is possible to give special attention to what challenges may be causing difficulties in a person’s life or uncover motives that may be unrecognized parts of a problem.   Finding constructive ways to interpret this image can provide a powerful looking glass into complicated interior feelings that may be taboo or too embarrassing to discuss.  If you’re not sure how to interpret the angelic prince of darkness who damned the Garden of Eden, you can always ask your client if there is a situation that is blocking their peace of mind.
Witnessed during a reading, the devil card conjures a sense of intensity.   Even for an experienced reader, understanding the reality and underlying reason for this card’s metaphoric appearance may not readily come to the surface.   Finding the answer to what issues it represents can also be done in part through psychological analysis of the symbols found in surrounding cards.  If this diabolical image grows in importance during a reading, sometimes I say, “Don’t let the devil get you down” which translates as “don’t let negative forces take control of your feelings”.  Explore possible ways that a person can make the message of this card a hopeful note to improve their relationships and have a happier life.  Making light of darkness can bring cheerfulness to seriousness and a healing tone to your interpretation.  After all, The Devil , also viewed by some as a representation of Pan, the pagan god of fertility, is just one great step on the Magician’s Journey.

Tarot...Element Water, Suit of Cups

Drinking From The Cup Of Love
By Kooch N. Daniels
Copyright

A tarot student once asked, “What does it mean if the majority of the cards in my tarot spread are from the suit of cups?”
“It’s important to drink from the cup of love,” was my reply.
A different answer to this question involved exploring the meaning of the specific cards in the layout.  However, this question could also be answered by examining the significance of the meaning of the suit of cups. What is this tarot suit communicating to us?
The suit of cups most often involves love, passion, and relationships. It is identified with the element water, the emotions, depth of feelings, receptivity, imagination, and the intuition.  When there is a predominance of the suit of cups in a tarot spread, its message involves a watery or emotional essence.  It visually shows the importance of discussing your client’s heart-felt needs and puts their longings and desires in the limelight.  Even if the topic of romance isn’t the main question being asked, the person receiving the reading may need to get more in touch with their feelings and the truth of what’s affecting their inner reality.
A majority of this suit in a spread can indicate that life experiences are triggering emotional reactions. If the cards are mostly upright with positive images, I might ask my client if he or she is falling in love or seeking advice about an on-going relationship.  When most of the cup cards in the spread are reversed, I may ask whether a relationship is in conflict or if there is tension invoked by a past relationship.  Is the person who is getting the reading suffering from the pain of loss or quarrelling with a significant other?
During the discussion of the potential meaning of these cards, it will become obvious if the person is anxious or secure, a victim or victor in love, and how I can best nourish my client’s sense of wellbeing. While viewing the spread to explore the path of the inner self, it may become possible to dive into the sea of the subconscious mind and find truths buried under the surface of conscious awareness.  Most often, my key to unveiling the message of this suit is to inwardly question, “What are you presently drinking from these cups of love?”

Ace of Cups

My muse's inspiration:

Warm watery currents of tingling love flow from beyond the infinity of time to spill like mighty rivers over the brim of the Ace of Cups.  Aroused by the illuminating rays of love's longing, the Empress who is seated on the endearing throne of compassion, reaches for the wish-fulfilling cup to quench the heated thirst of her heart's desires.

Review For Polarity Wellness Tarot

Miriam Jacobs’s cards are mostly traditional in their symbolic associations but they also offer something completely unique, somatic associations in relation to Polarity Therapy. For tarot enthusiasts who enjoy learning about the body as well as the inner self, this new deck is a valuable tool to help you gain insight into your physical nature and gain access to methods for taking better care of yourself.

Weaving a magical tapestry with threads of mind and body connections, Miriam’s fresh approach offers us an opportunity to learn about how the tarot can relate to our bodies. This is done primarily through a drawing of a human body that appears in the lower right hand corner on each card. It is color coded to show you your most significant chakra and where on your own body you need to be focusing your attention. In her guidebook, Miriam offers brief descriptions of meanings of each card. These include a discussion of the card’s key qualities, associated element, astrological connection, concise musings, anatomical correspondences, and a “practice”. Each short practice offers a suggestion to do something to connect you with your healing energy. For example, when writing about The Star card she suggests: “Close your eyes. Lift your head up high. Allow the glow of yourself to flow through you.”

All Major Arcanas have a meditation type practice. Minors have a yoga type exercise based on Polarity Therapy exercises and Court cards have an artistic practice to try.

Although I can find ways to work magic with her cards, I also found myself wishing that Miriam’s guidebook would include more in-depth explanations of how to do Polarity work. However, she's told me that she's working on a book to offer more information and that she intends to do hands-on classes. Also, she does offer her website address for more information on Polarity Therapy bodywork and how she includes working with the Tarot: http://polaritywellness.com/.

Full Moon In Leo

Tomorrow, Sat., the 26th: Full Moon in Leo, The Moon opposite Sun, The High Priestess crossing The Sun card..An interesting day for sure!

I can only sense this after my tarot cards caught on fire on my table at a nightclub where I was working in San Francisco.  Someone gave me candles to make my table more mystical.   The wax caught on fire and my cards turned to crispy critters.  Lost one of my favorite decks to Fate's uncontrollable Trickster.
